1st Basque Tournament of Schmid TVG 2000
On Wednesday 14 August 2024, Eusko-Retro Association organized the 1st Basque Tournament of Schmid TVG 2000. It was the firs5:49 AM 25/08/2024t time we played Schmid and it was good. We liked the games and the gameplay more than the MPT-03 we had. We met at the Bar Berlin in Santutxu, 7 players: Samuel, Egoitz, Dani, Alvaro, Luis, Joseba and Lander (next day at home). The next day, to give my son Lander the opportunity to participate in the tournament, Lander played Cat Trax at our house in Derio and then Fußball against me.
During those two days of competition we played: Cat Trax, Astro Invader, Escape, Jump Bug and Fußball.
First we started with Cat Trax, an entertaining game very similar to Pac-Man. The objective is to get through the white dots before we are captured by the enemies that come for us. Then we played Astro Invaders, a game similar to Space Invaders but more chaotic. You have to shoot without stopping to avoid them falling to the ground and everything exploding. Next we played Escape, a game that we didn't really like. A man with long legs has to go from one stage to another and in the meantime he has to avoid being destroyed by bugs or by a central force. In Santutxu, we ended up playing Jump Bug, a curious and fun game where we have to advance from one screen to another and get bags of money while our car keeps jumping. In Derio, Lander and I played two games of Fußball and he beat me. A very promising football game but addictive.
The tournament was won by Egoitz although Luis and Joseba played very well. Luis was close to winning the tournament but Egoitz, with some luck, and also thanks to the fact that he played more games, was able to win this first Basque Schmid TVG 2000 tournament. The idea is to organize a new Radofin 1292 tournament in December.
