Second Basque Tournament of Schmid TVG 2000
On Tuesday 8 July 2025, Eusko-Retro Association organized the 2nd Basque Tournament of Schmid TVG 2000. It was the second time we played Schmid and we had a great time. After playing ZX Spectrum and Atari XL 800, while we were playing a tournament of PES 6 of PlayStation 2 we played also Schmid TVG 2000. We met again at the Bar Berlin in Santutxu, this time we gathered 8 players: Mikel, Egoitz, Dani, Jon, Alvaro, Joseba Zubiaurre, Axel Pernett and Jesus.
That afternoon we played Cat Trax, Astro Invader, and Escape, two less games than the previous year. First we started with Cat Trax, a game very similar to the legendary Pac-Man from Atari. The objective is to get through the white dots before we are captured by the enemies that come for us. Then we played Astro Invaders, like Space Invaders but more chaotic for this kind of console. As the game progresses, you have to destroy the ships faster and faster. It's nerve-wracking, but that's fine. And finally we played Escape, a game that the main character, a man with long legs has to go from one stage or room to another and in the meantime he has to kill and destroy monsters that will attack him.
The tournament was won by Egoitz although Jesus and Axel played very well. Axel was close to winning the tournament but he didn’t play Astro Invaders so finally got less points for this reason. Egoitz with some luck, was able to win this second Basque Schmid TVG 2000 tournament. Our goal is to organize a new Radofin 1292 tournament in December.
